You can acquire the right to citizenship in Turkey in various situations. One of them is Citizenship Directly Gained by Investing. With the decision published in the Official Gazette dated 19.09.2018, foreigners who buy real estate in Turkey with a value of at least 250.000 USD and invest at least 500.000 USD will be directly entitled to become Turkish Citizens. The Ministry of Environment and Urbanization requests a “Real Estate Valuation Report” prepared by the Real Estate Appraisal Companies listed in the Capital Markets Board (CMB) Real Estate Appraisal Companies list, for the confirmation that the minimum total value of the purchased real estate / real estates is 250,000 USD. How does the application process for Turkish Citizenship work by purchasing real estate?
The request for Turkish citizenship is processed by purchasing real estate / real estates with a total value of at least 250.000 USD and applying to the General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre. The application is sent to the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization with the Real Estate Valuation Report confirming that the purchased real estate / real estate is at least 250,000 USD. After the examinations, the Ministry requests the TKGM (General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre) to establish a “cannot be sold for three years” annotation on the land registry records. After the Ministry sends the application to the General Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs, the process comes to the final stage. You are invited to NVIGM (General Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs) to obtain a Republic of Turkey Identity Card and a Passport of the Republic of Turkey.
